PREP66 · PART-66 EXAM PREP · EASA AND UK CAA

Everything Prep66 includes for your Part-66 exams

Prep66 Academy is online exam preparation for the Part-66 aircraft maintenance licence, written to both the EASA and the UK CAA syllabus. For each of the 13 modules of category B1.1 it gives you questions with a written explanation behind every answer, Fill-in-the-Gaps, three timed mock exams, a study book, a revision guide, Blurting, a mistakes review, a readiness score and three timed revision games: 25,534 questions and 39 mocks in all. It runs in any modern browser, on a phone or a laptop. One Module costs £9.99, $12.99 or €11.99 a month, and All Modules £19.99, $26.99 or €23.99 a month.

Prep66 is independent Part-66 exam preparation. It is not affiliated with, approved by or endorsed by EASA, the UK CAA or any national aviation authority.

01 WHICH LICENCESCATEGORY B1.1

Which Part-66 licences does Prep66 cover?

Category B1.1, aeroplanes with turbine engines, and all 13 of its modules: 1 to 11, 15 and 17 under EASA, which the UK CAA numbers 7A, 9A, 11A and 17A where they differ. Modules 12, 13, 14, 16 and 18 do not apply to B1.1 and are not covered.

Modules 1 to 10 are the common core the B1 subcategories share, so if you are working towards B1.2, B1.3 or B1.4, much of Prep66 will serve you too. It is written to the B1.1 column of Appendix I, though, so check your own subcategory’s knowledge levels for those modules, and it does not cover the modules specific to your aircraft.

02 THE QUESTION BANK13 MODULES

How big is the Prep66 question bank?

25,534 multiple choice questions across the 13 modules, every one with three options and one correct answer, the same format as the Part-66 papers. Every question has a written explanation of its answer, all of them, not just some, and nothing is copied from live exam papers.

Practice is untimed and you choose the target: a whole module or one topic inside it, 25 questions at a time, and you can stop after any question. If you think a question is wrong, you can report it from the question itself.

Part of each module’s bank is held back from practice: those are the questions its three mock papers are built from, and each one joins your practice only once you have sat the paper it belongs to.

03 FILL-IN-THE-GAPSRECALL

What is Fill-in-the-Gaps?

A sentence from the module with one word or short term missing, which you type from memory, with nothing to pick from. A multiple choice question checks that you can recognise the right answer; a gap checks that you can recall it.

Every gap shows you the completed sentence afterwards and where in the study book it comes from, so you know where to read it again. Fill-in-the-Gaps is unlimited on every module your plan covers.

04 MOCK EXAMS39 PAPERS

How do the mock exams work?

There are three mock exams for every module, 39 in all. Each is a full paper at the real question count and the real time, and the clock belongs to the exam rather than the tab: it keeps running if you close the page, the same as the real room. Practice, Fill-in-the-Gaps and Blurting have no clock. The only other clocks on Prep66 are the ones on each item of the three revision games.

The questions come from the part of the bank that practice holds back until you have sat that paper, so a mock tests what you know rather than what you remember seeing. It is marked as soon as you hand it in or run out of time, with a written explanation for every question, and your best mock score feeds your readiness score.

05 BOOKS AND GUIDES13 OF EACH

What are the study books and revision guides?

Every module has a study book and a revision guide, 13 of each. The study book is the full read for the module, topic by topic. The revision guide covers the same ground condensed for revision, flags the traps, and marks every place where EASA and the UK CAA differ, so one guide serves both authorities and you can see what your own authority examines.

Both open where you stopped last time, and you can bookmark any page to come back to. They read the same on a phone or a laptop, and the workspace has a light and a dark theme.

06 BLURTINGRECALL

What is Blurting?

A recall exercise built into every revision guide, on every item. You read the item until you think you have it, then hide it and write down everything you can remember, in any order, with no clock and no word count. Then you read it back and tick off what you got. Clear the board and go again, or move on.

What you could not write down is what to read next.

07 REVISION GAMESTHREE GAMES

What are the Prep66 revision games?

Three short timed games on every module. True or False puts one statement on the screen for you to judge. Find the False Statement shows three statements, two true and one false, for you to find. Match Pairs gives you three terms to match to their meanings. A round is 25 items on the whole module or on one of its topics, and a small topic gives a shorter round. Each item has its own clock at Medium, Hard or Brutal, and is marked green or red the moment you answer.

The end of the round shows every item, the wrong ones first, with your answer and the right one, and the reason behind it on the two statement games. Nothing is saved and a round never counts toward Progress, so the games are the part of Prep66 to pick up for five minutes on a phone.

08 MISTAKES REVIEWTHREE LISTS

Can you go back over the questions you got wrong?

Yes. Every module has a mistakes review with three lists: the practice questions, the gaps and the mock questions you got wrong. Each list is grouped by topic in the order you made the mistakes, shows how many times each one went wrong, and can be searched.

When you know one, you tick it off, and the list shows only what is still waiting until you choose to show the ticked ones again.

09 PROGRESSREADINESS

How does Prep66 tell you when you are ready?

Your readiness score for a module is worked out from three things: how much of its bank you have covered, how often you get questions right, and your best mock score once you have sat one. It comes out as one number against the 75% pass mark, and it is an estimate from your own answers rather than a prediction.

Each answer also counts toward the topic it came from, so a weak topic shows up on its own instead of hiding inside the module score. The Progress screen tracks the score week by week, projects it to your exam date, shows which topics are climbing or slipping, and flags the ones you once had right but have not seen for a while.

10 EASA AND UK CAABOTH SYLLABUSES

Does Prep66 cover both EASA and the UK CAA?

Yes. Both authorities examine the same 13 subjects, but they set four papers differently (Modules 6, 8, 9 and 10) and the syllabus itself differs across nine modules. The question bank is written to both syllabuses, and each revision guide marks every place where the two part ways.

The essay parts of the papers are not covered: EASA sets two essays for B1.1, both in Module 7, and the UK CAA sets four, in Modules 7A, 9A and 10.

11 PLANS AND PRICESBILLED MONTHLY

How much does Prep66 cost?

There are two plans, both billed monthly, and you can cancel any time from your account. One Module costs £9.99, $12.99 or €11.99 a month and opens everything on one module of your choice. All Modules costs £19.99, $26.99 or €23.99 a month and opens the same on all 13 modules at once.

From 1 November 2026 the prices rise, and a subscription started before then keeps the price it started on for as long as it stays subscribed. The new prices are in the plan list on this page.

You can sign up without a card and see the workspace before you choose a plan. Cancelling ends the plan at the close of the paid period and leaves your account and your progress in place.

12 WHAT IT IS NOTINDEPENDENT

What does Prep66 not do?

Prep66 is not a Part-147 approved maintenance training organisation, and it does not run exams or award anything. You sit your exams with a Part-147 approved organisation or the competent authority, and nothing on Prep66 can shorten a resit wait or the experience you need.

It is not affiliated with EASA, the UK CAA or any national aviation authority. It covers the 13 modules of category B1.1 and not the essay parts of the papers. And it cannot guarantee a pass: no one can promise that honestly.

NO CARD TO SIGN UP · ONE MODULE OR ALL 13

Look round every module before you choose a plan.

Everything above is in both plans; the difference is how many modules you open. Sign up without a card and look round every module first. When you are ready to study, One Module opens everything on the paper you are sitting next, and All Modules opens all thirteen.
