Find the False Statement: a Part-66 revision game shaped like the paper

Three statements from a Part-66 module, two of them true and one turned false in a single detail. Find it before the clock runs out. That is Find the False Statement, the Prep66 revision game for the EASA and UK CAA Part-66 exams. A round is 25 sets, each marked green or red as you answer, with the reason behind every set at the end. Of the three games it is the one shaped most like the paper: three options on the screen and one to pick.

Prep66 is independent Part-66 exam preparation. It is not affiliated with, approved by or endorsed by EASA, the UK CAA or any national aviation authority.

01 THE GAMETHREE STATEMENTS

What is Find the False Statement?

Three statements on one subject from the module, printed together. Two are true and one is not, and your job is to find the one that is not. You choose one, and the set turns green or red at once.

The false statement is written to pass for true. It is a claim you would nod along to on its own, so you have to check each of the three against what you know rather than against each other.

Which one was false, and why, waits for the end of the round.

02 A ROUND25 SETS

How does a round of Find the False Statement work?

A round is 25 sets from one module, or from one topic of it, and a topic that holds fewer sets gives a shorter round. The sets come one at a time, each with its own clock.

Medium, Hard and Brutal set how long that clock runs, and nothing else. Run out of time on a set and it is marked wrong. The round moves on.

The end of the round shows every set, the wrong ones first, with the statement you picked, the one that was false and the reason it was false. Nothing is saved, and the next round on the same module is a fresh draw.

03 WHY IT HELPSTHE PAPER’S SHAPE

Why does Find the False Statement help with Part-66 revision?

Because the multiple choice part of every Part-66 paper is three option questions, and a wrong option in a well written paper is a plausible near miss rather than an obvious blunder. Finding the false statement among three is the same act as ruling out the two wrong options in a question, done at speed and many times over.

It also catches a kind of gap the question bank cannot. A multiple choice question has a stem that tells you what to think about. A set of three statements has no stem, so you bring the whole topic to the screen and test each claim against it.

Use it to find the topics where the false statement keeps getting past you, then open the practice questions and the revision guide on those.

04 EVERY MODULEALL 13 MODULES

Which modules have Find the False Statement?

Every one of the thirteen B1.1 modules, on the whole module or on one of its topics. It sits on the Games screen beside True or False and Match Pairs. A round on any of the three starts from the same place: pick the module, the topic if you want one, and a level.

The plan that covers a module, One Module or All Modules, opens its games as it opens its questions and mocks. An account costs nothing to create and needs no card.

05 PART OF PREP66ONE PLACE

Is Prep66 a question bank or a revision platform?

A revision platform for the EASA and UK CAA Part-66 aircraft maintenance licence exams, of which the question bank is one part. For every module there are questions with a written explanation behind each answer, Fill-in-the-Gaps and three timed mock exams. There are also a study book, a revision guide, Blurting, a mistakes review, a readiness score in Progress and the three games, all in one account.

The games are the quick part: a few minutes on a phone between other things, on the module you are sitting next. Then back to the reading and the practice that the readiness score is built on.

The other two games

Find the False Statement sits between the other two games in weight: more to read than a single statement, less to do than three pairs. Both start from the same Games screen, on the same module or topic.

07 QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASKFAQ

Questions about Find the False Statement

Q.01

How is Find the False Statement different from a practice question?

A practice question asks one thing and gives you three answers, one of them right. A set in this game gives you three statements, two of them right, and asks you to find the wrong one. There is no stem to steer you, the clock is running, and the reason arrives at the end of the round rather than after each answer. Practice is untimed, saves every answer and feeds your readiness score. The game does none of those, on purpose.

Q.02

Can I report a statement I think is wrong?

Yes, from the set itself while the round is running. The clock stops while the report is open and starts again when you close it. You get a receipt, and an email when the report has been ruled on.

Q.03

Is Find the False Statement timed?

Yes. Every set has its own clock, and Medium, Hard and Brutal set how long it runs. When it runs out the set counts as wrong and the next one follows. The clock is the point: the paper is timed, and a fact you can only reach slowly is a fact you do not yet own.

Q.04

How many sets are in a round?

25 on a whole module, drawn fresh each time. A topic with fewer sets in it gives a shorter round, and the start card tells you the count. Each set is three statements from one place in the syllabus.

Q.05

Can I play one topic of a module?

Yes. Pick the module on the Games screen, then the topic, then the level. A round on one topic stays inside it, and a round on the whole module moves across its topics.
